We know it as “El Sendero Ancestral” is a popular adventure, typically spanning several days. The trail takes you through diverse landscapes, including mountains, forests, and indigenous villages. It´s a chance to experience the rich cultural tapestry of Guatemala and witness the daily lives of local communities. The trek usually involves overnight stays in villages along the way, offering an authentic immersion in to the Mayan highlands before reaching the stunning Lake Atitlan.
- DAY 1: Is a mix trail in the mountain forest with nice views of the highland in Guatemala, during this day we can pass through the communities and see how the local people leave in the mountains. 10 hours walking in the nature and mix trails, we going to sleep with local friendly family and know about their life.
- DAY 2: Early in the morning we take our breakfast prepare in the local wood stove and continue our trek for 6 hours on a dirty road until get to Santa Clara la Laguna where we spend the night with Kaqchiqel local family and try the local sauna or “Temascal”
- DAY 3: Our last day in the communities to appreciate the sunrise from the high pick in the town Rostro Maya know for the locals “Rupalaj Kistalin”. Four hours walking down with nice views of the Lake Atitlan.

Is a volcanic crater lake located in the highland of Guatemala, near the town of Quetzaltenango. It is considered a sacred and culturally significant site for the indigenous Mayan people. The lake is situated within the Chicabal Volcano and is surrounded by lush cloud forest.
